The story of ecentre
The ecentre (formerly e-centre ltd.) was established in 2001 as the business incubator for Massey University and is located in the Bob Tindall Building on the Massey University Campus in Auckland. The concept was driven by Prof. Chris Kirk and Prof. Ian Watson from Massey University, together with support from the North Shore City Council and The Tindall Foundation. The idea was to create a place where innovative start-up companies can access expert advice from on-site experts, subject matter experts from the University and mentors from the local region.
Almost a decade later, still building on the original concept, the ecentre has expanded and improved its offering to entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial companies and is continuously developing processes to systemise entrepreneurship and innovation.
