ecentre CEO Jackie Young delivered the commencement address at Massey Business School’s Graduation Ceremony, emphasising the importance of having the mindset of an innovator.
She cited the need to develop entrepreneurial, transportable skills to take advantage of the opportunities created by the unprecedented changes in society.
“Curiosity, critical thinking and innovation and will give you an edge in navigating the way forward – whether you are working for yourself, a large organisation, a local business or a social enterprise,” Young said.
“Innovativeness is a mindset. And what makes mindset especially powerful, is that it is malleable and dynamic. You can choose how to shape your mindset, so you can make a positive impact in your family, in your workplace or in your community.”
More than 1400 students graduated the week of April 16. The ceremonies were held at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna, occuring twice daily from Tuesday morning until the final ceremony on Thursday afternoon.
